Eco Church

The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. Caring for creation is part of our discipleship rather than an added extra, and our churches are working through the Eco Church scheme to put that into practice.

What Eco Church covers

• Worship and teaching that takes creation seriously
• Buildings: heating, lighting, insulation and how we use energy
• Land: churchyards and grounds managed with wildlife in mind
• Community engagement and global action
• The everyday choices we make about what we buy and how we travel

Where we have got to

Our churches are at different stages, and that is as it should be. Some are working towards a first award, others are further along. Progress in a small chapel with an old boiler looks different from progress in a town centre building, and both count.

Lend a hand

Whether it is letting a corner of the churchyard grow long for the insects, moving a church to renewable electricity, or simply turning the heating down and putting a jumper on, there is something here for everyone. If you would like to be part of it, please get in touch.
