Our calling

Called to worship, to grow, to care and to share

The Methodist Church exists to increase awareness of God's presence and to celebrate God's love. In this Circuit that calling takes four everyday shapes.

Worship

We gather week by week to praise God, to pray, to hear the scriptures read and preached, and to share bread and wine. Our worship is warm rather than formal, and visitors are always welcome.

Learning and caring

We help one another to grow in faith through study, conversation and friendship, and we look after one another through the ordinary difficulties of life.

Service

We serve our villages and towns without asking who belongs and who does not: through coffee mornings and lunch clubs, through support for local charities and foodbanks, and through the care our members give quietly to their neighbours.

Evangelism

We are glad to say why we follow Jesus, gently and without pressure, and to make room for anyone who wants to explore faith for the first time.
